Day 5, 2015.05.17 Sarajevo 1000 563 Michael

After the first good meal in the evening the day started with an equal breakfast. Srednji (the man with the grey beard => Day 4) the owner gave me a sandwich, a softdrink and the advise watch your motorcycle in Sarajevo they will steal it faster than you believe. I didn’t try to explain that my target is a campground outside of Sarajevo too difficult without the nightclub owner that translated yesterday.

With the scenic view on the seconde picture would, would you use your balcony completely as storage for firewood in the early summer? Maybe the prioities are a bit different in Bosnia. My day looked like easy riding at first. Start with some nice curvy asphalt roads and later easy gravel.

One highlight were the pyramids of Bosnia. May it was because I wasn’t concentrated or whatever but on a deep tire trail I dropped my bike to the valley side of the road a few km later. Fuel came out of the top of the tank and it was impossible to lift it up with luggage. I took of the topbag and with a 50m sprint I could prevent that it rolled down the hill. I took of the upper box which still wasn’t enough. Taking the lower box off was complicated but possible of course the bike dropped deeper and the still running fuelstream out of my tank increased. I got it up again and you can imagine why the tough challenge distracted me from taking a picture. But I took one of the Sandwich and the softdrink from Srednji both made the necessary break much better.

When I came out of the track I wanted to take some pictures of an impressive quarry. 4 Dogs where standing near the entrance and made me a little nervous. I had a bad experience of the Vosges in my mind where a dog forced me to stop my bike and bite me in my leg. I watched the 4 dogs carefully and they were no guard dogs they were wild like if seen many before in Serbia and Bosnia. I took a picture of one of this guys just to show how sad a dogs life can be. As already said my target of the day was a camp site near Sarajevo. 10€  the tent 20€€for the bungalow with own bathroom, easy decision. When I looked into the shower I preferred the community bathroom because it is brand new and without moult. After putting on my last underpants I found a new advantage of my new bags. You can hang 3 socks on each side extra to the bike.
