Day 6, 2016.07.14 Lake Gussinoje 1000 667 Michael

Target of this day was trying the offroad trail between Lake Gussinoje and Lake Baikal. We followed a rough wikiloc trail so what could go wrong? A lot definitely. At we stopped at a small village to fill up our water supplies. I placed my wallet on of my bags to put the water bottles on my bike. Of course I forgot it there and drove away. I realized it a few km later and returned to look for it cards and everything were of course also in it. I don’t know if one or two people found it but one brought it back to me while I tried to explain what a miss to the women in the grocery shop we bought before. Of course there was no mongolian or russian money left in it and this bastard insisted in getting money for bringing it back. Asmir lend me 500 Rubel that was in my eyes fair. He gave it back to me but wasn’t very satisfied. I didn’t care about that. The money in my wallet had a value between 50 and 100€ if he took that he had more than enough. An honest person had never insisted on money for bringing something back. Ok we wasted at least one hour on that stupid mistake before we could go for our target.

In Gussinoosjorsk we stopped for fuel and lunch. I eat my Buretschky (maybe spelt wrong, it was a doughball filled with meat and rice). They were very good. From the village our way lead us through an industrial area directly into the wild. The way was great fun for my 640 but already a tough challenge for my friends on the big bikes. Both did a quite good job.

There were thousends of big puddles to cross and the holes in the “road” varied from small to enormous. Of course I was needed to do something stupid in front of the camera:

Of course I was wet. At least not as wet as this snake that guarded the ford of a River we had to cross.

When we arrived at a steep hill we decided to camp. Completely not romantic we started the fire with fuel to get the mosquito away a little faster.
